i just watched this movie because it was on tv.
based on a true story, it's about a teacher and his sixth grade class raising a piglet together, teaching the "lesson of life" to students by raising it and then eating it before they graduate.

the children get emotionally attached to the pig and have debates about what to do with the pig after they graduate because they don't want to eat it.

the options they came up with were either to send the pig to the slaughterhouse or to get the grade 3's to keep looking after it. the debate scenes in the movie made me cry so much and made me think about the food i eat every day.

the poor pig ended up being taken to the slaughterhouse in the end and now every time i see pork, i'm going to think of this poor little pig and feel sad. :(

when i was in year 2, our class had a little lamb and we looked after it for about 6 months.
his name was snowy and we fed him milk with a coke bottle and played with him.
after we said bye to snowy, i didn't eat lamb for months and months.
even now, i think of poor snowy when i see lamb. :(
